A Million reasons for Super League to relish next season

- JAMIE PEACOCK

SUPER LEAGUE will have a newlypromoted club in it next season – and whether it’s Toronto or London, it’s win-win for the sport.

They clash in the Million Pound Game tomorrow in Canada. Who could have imagined that a few years ago?

A lot of people would like to see the Broncos back in Super League – it feels like the competition has been missing something without them in the last few years. Then you look at what Toronto have done in creating a massive wave and surge throughout the sport over the last couple of years and that’s a fantastic prospect too.

Ideally, I’d like to see them both in the top flight, but only one can go up this year. I don’t understand the opposition we still see from some quarters to Toronto being in the British game – why would you not want a new club to come in and be successful?

Rugby league has to grow or it will die, and every sport you look at is becoming more worldwide, staging games outside their own traditional heartlands. As far as the Million Pound Game goes, you’ve got to back the Wolfpack with them being at home.

I believe London would like to be back in Super League – but the Wolfpack desperately want it now, it’s been their goal since the first second of this season.

The Broncos are a very well-coached side under Danny Ward, but I just can’t look past Toronto in this one.
