Man shot dead by an assassin on a bike
Blasted four times, with kids nearby
A WOMAN told how she desperately tried to save a man shot four times by a push bike assassin yesterday.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital after the attack at 11.30am in a street with children coming and going, but he died of head and body injuries.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said: “I just heard four bangs. I went out and saw him lying in the street.
“I did CPR. It’s hard seeing someone you know like that. He is a local lad and I know his family. He’s a nice lad.”
The attacker, in his late 20s, of medium build, fled wearing black and a high-vis jacket. Armed police raced to the scene in Belle Vale, Liverpool.
Appealing for witnesses, one officer said: “We share the community’s shock that this could happen in a residential street in broad daylight – late on a Sunday morning.
“I want to reassure the public gun crime will not be tolerated.”
“Gangland fixer” John Kinsella, 53, who once stopped a notorious drug dealer from terrorising footballer Steven Gerrard, was gunned down by a man on a bike on May 5 in nearby St Helens.
