(0) 0 BRAD QUINTON was given the boot at rock-bottom Braintree following Town’s 11th defeat in 15 games.

A 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh, thanks to goals from Paul McCallum and Chris Zebroski, was the final straw for the Iron’s chairman Lee Harding.

Quinton, the club’s skipper as a player, steered Braintree back into the National League last term.

Harding said: “We felt it was time for a change.

“Brad has done well for us as both a player and manager – being involved in three promotions in 11 years – and we thank him for his contribution. He knows he is always welcome here.”

Adam Rooney’s hat-trick earned National League leaders Salford a 4-1 victory at Dover.
