Meg’s burden

THE admission by Meghan Markle’s father that he snorted cocaine while raising her isn’t exactly what the Royal Family will have wanted on the morning of a wedding.

The most traditional of our institutions must be struggling to come to terms with the relatives of Prince Harry’s US bride.

However, only the cold hearted would think less of Meghan in light of the revelation.

So, hopefully, the couple will take comfort from the enthusiastic crowds greeting them.

They perform official duties – unlike Princess Eugenie and her tequila ambassador husband-to-be who will lumber taxpayers with a hefty bill for today’s extravagant wedding.

Let’s hope they learn that respect and affection are earned and are not an entitlement.
