Gran thrown in cells after police mix-up
Amanda & pal AMANDA Holden clearly wasn’t feeling the October chill as when she showed up for Alesha Dixon’s 40th birthday party in a skimpy halterneck top.
The Britain’s Got Talent star, 47, celebrated her fellow BGT judge’s big day at The Mandrake hotel in Central London. Alesha’s other guests included former JLS singer Aston Merrygold and DJ Manny Norte. FRIGHTENED Beryl Harvey A CHURCHGOING gran spent a terrifying night in the cells after bungling police sent a court summons to the wrong address.
Beryl Harvey, 78, did not turn up for a minor dogbite case after the letter went to the same address in a different town.
A follow-up was sent correctly but due to a second mix-up she was arrested and detained.
Beryl, of Wivenhoe, Essex, said: “They took everything... my bracelet, jewellery, watch and all of my medication. It was really pretty frightening.”
The next morning Colchester magistrates gave her a conditional discharge for being in charge of a dangerous dog.
Beryl, a gran of five, said: “This is all for a scratch on someone’s leg.”
