Dog walker is killed by cows

A FATHER was trampled to death by cows while trying to save his old dog.

John McNamara, 67, was found fatally injured in a field near his cottage.

It’s thought he got cornered in a doomed attempt to save his 13-year-old retriever in Forest Row, East Sussex. His two other dogs fled.

Family friend Koko Easterbrook said: “This man went above and beyond, getting his other dogs out of harm’s way before returning. He’s a hero.”
