Easy to miss Spain’s pains

THERE appears to be concern in some quarters that Eleven Sports are flouting the rule that forbids live football to be broadcast while games in the English leagues kick-off at the traditional three o’clock slot on Saturdays – as if anybody had noticed.

On Saturday week, there is only one La Liga game scheduled to clash with the 3pm starts in England.

And if you would prefer to stay at home in a darkened room and watch Valencia against Leganes on your iPad rather than go to a game or play yourself, English football does not need you.
