SCOTLAND boss Ally MacLeod was brimming with confidence ahead of a vital World Cup qualifying clash with Wales.

MacLeod predicted a two-goal winning margin at Anfield would set his team on their way to Argentina.

He was right – the Scots won 2-0 after a controversial late penalty, which was then followed by a Kenny Dalglish goal.
