Trump is just like JR Ewing
DALLAS star Linda Gray has compared Donald Trump to her on-screen husband JR Ewing.
Her remarks come as it was revealed President Trump’s three-day trip to Britain in July cost the UK taxpayer roughly £18million for the police operation.
Linda played Sue Ellen in the US soap opposite Larry Hagman as the cheating, scheming oil baron.
Talking about the character, Linda said: “We have a president like that. There are personalities like that around the world, it’s not just here... the ego, the money, the deals and the philandering.
“Like JR, it’s all about the deal – how
can we do this? How can we manoeuvre this?”
Linda, 78, was in the soap during its original run from 1978 to 1991, and was back for the reboot between 2012 and 2014. She was also in C4 show Hollyoaks in 2016. Larry died aged 81 in 2012. Trump was a multimillionaire property tycoon before he became president. On Trump’s UK visit, police chief Sara Thornton said an “early estimate” of the bill was £18million.
