Tory to Scot: Speak slowly
OUTRAGE Alex Paterson A SCOTTISH councillor accused a Tory of xenophobia after being asked to talk slowly in a meeting so he could “understand” him.
Alex Paterson, 41, was interrupted by Barry Kemp at Medway Council, Kent.
Mr Paterson, originally of Glasgow and Labour’s man for Rochester West, said: “I told him he was ignorant.”
Cllr Kemp denied xenophobia, adding: “I’m halfScottish. I understand my uncle Jimmy in Glasgow with a pipe in his mouth.”
