Fill in the squares so that each row and column contains each of the numbers 1 to 8 exactly once. Each arrow shows whether a number is higher or lower than its neighbour, with the point of the arrow pointing to the lower number.

HINT You’ll find it helpful to look for chains of increasing numbers and to try to place as many of the 1s and 8s at the start.
