TOMMY FLEETWOOD suffered a putting “nightmare” and Justin Rose just made the cut as Europe’s Ryder Cup stars struggled at Walton Heath yesterday. The Southport star carded a 77 – his worst score since the third round of the US Open – after three-putting three consecutive greens. Fleetwood, in his 11th event in 14 weeks as he bids to retain the Race to Dubai, said: “Fatigue is an easy excuse but honestly I played fine. I just had a nightmare on the greens really.”
