Saudis: You hit us, we’ll hit back harder
SAUDI Arabia as vowed to retaliate against any punitive action taken by the West over missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi “with a bigger one”.
Washington Post journalist Mr Khashoggi vanished on October 2 after visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. US President Donald Trump said he will “punish” Saudi Arabia if it is found to have killed him.
And yesterday Health Secretary Matt Hancock also warned of “consequences” if the country is found to be behind the disappearance.
But a source quoted by Saudi state news agency SPA said: “The kingdom affirms its total rejection of any threats or attempts to undermine it whether through economic sanctions or political pressure.
“The kingdom also affirms it will respond to any action with a bigger one.”
