75% OF NHS NOT READY

SOME 75% of NHS trusts have made no preparations for Brexit, despite worries about its effect on staffing and availability of drugs.

Data obtained by the pro-EU People’s Vote referendum campaign under Freedom of Information laws showed that of 101 trusts that responded, just 25 said they had done some planning.

Separately, a YouGov survey of doctors and nurses found that 66% think leading Brexiteer Boris Johnson told a “deliberate lie” when he vowed £350million extra a week for the NHS after Brexit.

He put the pledge on his battlebus as he toured the UK during the referendum campaign.

Only one in 10 believes he was telling the truth, the poll found.

The survey also found that 75% of doctors and nurses say they now want to stay in the EU, up from 66% who wanted to remain in the bloc in 2016.
