Live hanging on abuse net

A MAN live-streamed his suicide on Christmas Day in an internet “insult chatroom”, an inquest heard.

Gregory Tomkins, 39, hanged himself as a video went viral on US-owned Apple Inc Insults and other users treated it as a prank.

Police broke into the flat in Croydon, South London, but medics could not save Mr Tomkins, who had a history of mental health issues and drug use.

Coroner Dr William Dolman called it a “bizarre” case. Verdict: Suicide.
