Beautician in branding Tiff with jeweller

BACKLASH Tiffany Parmar A BEAUTICIAN has hit out at jewellers Tiffany & Co for threatening legal action over her business name.

Mum-of-two Tiffany Parmar, 32, made a trademark application for Cotswold Lashes by Tiffany.

But the US firm’s lawyers wrote to her claiming the “highly similar” name could bring the brand “into disrepute” and warned it would “protect its rights”.

Tiffany, of Gloucester, said in an open letter: “As a very small business I’m so saddened to see you found it necessary to go after me so aggressively for trying to do things the correct way.”

The firm’s lawyers last week emailed her arguing the name would “take unfair advantage of our client’s registered marks”.
