Manhunt for dad over horror attack on wife and daughter

A BUSINESSMAN is wanted by police after allegedly stabbing his wife and dousing his teenage daughter with petrol at their £500,000 country home.

Property developer John Cowley, 63, is feared to be armed and dangerous.

His wife Alison, 50, was knifed in the abdomen during Wednesday’s attack at Mawdesley, Lancs.

Cowley also allegedly sprayed fuel on daughter Katie outside FUGITIVE John Cowley the house before a car on the drive exploded. He then fled the scene. Witness Robert Newbiggin, who was passing by, drove the two terrified women to safety. The former pro boxer, 53, said: “I’m a tough guy but I’ve never been so scared in all my life.” Alison is stable in hospital. Det Supt Claire McEnery said: “We are continuing to work hard to trace John Cowley and speak to him about what are very serious offences.”
