Tim Ward, 49, was away visiting his son when his phone alerted him that his car was being stolen.

The three raiders, all in helmets, booted their way into his home in Great Barr, Birmingham, and drove off in the SQ5.

Tim said: “They were in and out in seconds.

“Fortunately, no one was in at the time. God knows what would’ve happened.”

The motor was abandoned with scratches and bumps, plus damage caused when the gang tried to rip out its tracker. Police are investigating.
