LATE SERMON FROM CHAPLIN

- Chaplin 82

COVENTRY WYCOMBE 1 0

CONOR CHAPLIN hailed his Coventry side after they scored a late winner for the second league game running.

Chaplin headed home only his second goal of the season from Dujon Sterling’s cross eight minutes from time to see off Wycombe Wanderers, a week after they struck late to claim victory at Charlton.

And the on-loan Portsmouth man said: “It is a nice habit to get into.

“Scoring late goals within the last 10 or 15 minutes of a game is testament to the lads for, first and foremost, being fit enough, and secondly, having the belief to keep going. The lads were saying in the dressing room that it is not easy to win twice in a row in this league.

“But at the same time it is something that you need to do to achieve success.

“Thankfully that is something that we were able to achieve, and of course we will be looking to build on this now.”
