Firms back ‘Amazon tax’
MORE big firms have backed calls to tax online retailers such as Amazon.
Brian Bickell, of property giant Shaftesbury, which owns West End shops, said we need to “level the playing field”. And James Daunt, of Waterstones, said Amazon is “hoovering up the retail landscape”.
The Mirror’s High Street Fightback campaign is demanding new business rates and online sale taxes.
