Man in dock over the murder of two schoolgirl­s 30yrs ago

A MAN accused of murdering two nine-year-old girls more than 30 years ago is due to go on trial today.

Russell Bishop, 52, allegedly killed schoolgirl­s Karen Hadaway and Nicola Fellows on October 9, 1986.

The bodies were found in Wild Park in Moulsecoom­b, Brighton.

Bishop, 20 at the time, denies two charges of murder. Yesterday ACCUSED Russell Bishop, 52 the balding and bespectacl­ed defendant appeared before Mr Justice Sweeney at the Old Bailey for jury selection. Bishop wore a grey adidas T-shirt, cream tracksuit bottoms and blue and white trainers in the dock, where he was flanked by two officers.

He sat staring straight ahead through the hearing, his hands clasped over his stomach. Once a jury is signed in the case is expected to last up to eight weeks.
