JAYA ON CORRUPTION CHARGE
SRI LANKAN legend Sanath Jayasuriya has become the most high-profile name to be charged under the ICC’s anticorruption code.
The World Cup winner (left) has been charged with two counts of failing to co-operate with investigators and obstructing their enquiries.
It is understood Jayasuriya misled officers and refused to hand over all his mobile phones when requested.
The investigation centres on the fourth ODI between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in 2017, a game the home side lost as part of a 3-2 series defeat. Jayasuriya was in a second spell as chairman of selectors at the time.
