Fit-again Milner’s a Town trier

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

JAMES MILNER has made a lightning recovery from injury and could make the Liverpool starting line-up against Huddersfield Town on Saturday. And Kop team-mates Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk also look certain to be fit despite picking up knocks on international duty.

Reds star Milner (left) damaged a hamstring against Manchester City 10 days ago and was expected to be sidelined until at least the end of the month. But the 32-year-old has recovered much more quickly than anticipated and Anfield medics have given him the go-ahead to step up his comeback.

To have any chance of turning out against the Terriers he will have to resume full training with the squad by Thursday, but he hasn’t ruled that out.

Salah picked up a minor muscle strain while playing for Egypt but is expected to be fit by Saturday and, while Van Dijk sits out Holland’s game against Belgium tonight, he should also start against David Wagner’s side.
