As any hands-on dad will tell you, half the battle of parenting is trying to get done all the things you did before you became a parent – while holding more than you could have imagined possible.
The problem is you accumulate stuff at an unstoppable rate. It’s almost impossible to do anything without loading buggies, bags and covering your child in layers of clothes.
Things like getting on and off rush-hour public transport and personal admin require the same level of planning as Brexit.
As with so much of parenting everything is so much easier with a sleeping child. Enter the miracle baby carrier or papoose.
Now you can spend upward of £1,000 on a designer buggy with off-road wheels and satnav but unless you live in a sparsely populated town with double-width pavements it’s just not practical.
So scooping up junior, holding them close and warm and letting them sleep – or later the novelty of letting them see where they are going – means cutting the lawn is a cinch. With a papoose I’ve
