Tribute to Di as she wears her jewellery
THE Duchess of Sussex paid a touching tribute to Princess Diana on her first public appearance since her pregnancy was revealed by wearing a gold bracelet and earrings that belonged to her.
Meghan, 37, stepped out in Sydney in the distinctive butterfly earrings first worn by Diana during a 1986 royal visit to Canada.
And on her wrist was a gold bangle Diana wore during an engagement in London in 1990.
Diana, who died in 1997, left her jewellery to sons William and Harry, writing that she hoped “their wives may, in due course, have it or use it”.
Harry had two of his mother’s diamonds incorporated into the custom-made engagement ring he gave Meghan.
And on her wedding day in May, Meghan wore an emerald ring that was handed down by Diana at her evening reception.
