Benny is still OK in Thames

BENNY the beluga whale still appears healthy after three weeks in the Thames, experts said yesterday.

The Arctic mammal is still in Gravesend, Kent, amid ongoing concern.

But Martin Garside of Port of London Authority said: “It still seems healthy.

“There were sightings on Tuesday. Benny seems to disappear for a day or two, then pops up again.”

Experts say underwater sounds suggest Benny is foraging for food. Boats must keep 100m away.
