Son sues for mum’s death in cupboard
THE family of a woman who died trapped in an airing cupboard at a holiday resort are suing its owners.
Elizabeth Isherwood, 60, broke off a pipe to try to chisel through brick and plaster to escape after the cupboard handle broke.
She died of hypothermia as water from the pipe sprayed her.
Elizabeth, of Wolverhampton, was found dead at the end of her week’s stay at Machynlleth, MidWales, in September 2017. Her son Craig, 33, is seeking compensation from Macdonald Resorts.
He said: “My mother died in the most terrible circumstances. We think she had been trying to escape for several hours.”
Macdonald said it was unable to comment.
