Today’s photo shows a group of nurses modelling their new uniforms at the London Nursing Exhibition at Seymour Hall, London. As the NHS celebrates its 70th year, it’s interestin­g to see how nurses’ uniforms have evolved. Nowadays they are more practical – the nurse’s cap was ditched in the 1990s amid claims it could potentiall­y carry bacteria, and trousers are far more commonplac­e on the wards.
