FA PULL THE PLUG ON LA LIGA CLASH

WEST HAM are weighing up another move for Olivier Giroud.

Sports streaming service Eleven Sports want to screen Spanish and Italian league matches on Saturday afternoons. The FA fear that could hit attendances here, and chief Martin Glenn (below) took the case to the UEFA. Yesterday Eleven Sports announced they have backed down for the moment, but they will carry on fighting the blackout. A spokesman said: “The rule, which dates back to the 1950s, is unfit for the modern, digital era – particularly for overseas games which we hold the rights to. “The blackout is one of the biggest generators of piracy in the UK. These games are very easily accessed on illegal sites online. It is irresponsible to leave the market in the hands of criminals.”
