150m-yr-old ‘piranha’ find

-

A PIRANHA-like fossil from 150 million years ago was the first flesh-eating fish.

The find, from a German quarry, has serrated teeth for slicing flesh and fins.

Prof David Bellwood, of James Cook University in Australia, said: “This is an amazing parallel with modern piranhas.”
