HS2 ‘say’ pointless

■ I recently received a letter inviting me to have my say on HS2, which will run past the end of my street. What is the point of this? It won’t affect the plans, which I’m sure have already been written and cast in concrete. John Shale, Wigan

■ At the last election Theresa May told us only her strong leadership could get us the right Brexit deal. After seeing the mess she seems to be making of the negotiatio­ns, I’d say she’d be better suited to being head of St Trinian’s. She has definitely lost control of her pupils! Len Goodwin Doncaster
