Joka hails ‘opposite’ Warnock
FULHAM boss Slavisa Jokanovic expects a battle of contrasting styles as he takes his team to Cardiff tomorrow.
Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds – promoted automatically from the Championship ahead of play-off winners Fulham last season – have a much more direct game than Jokanovic’s slickpassing side.
But, despite their different footballing beliefs, the Serbian head coach is a Warnock fan.
“I always enjoy talking to him after a game,” he said.
“You can always learn something important. He’s very experienced and he’s a great man.
“He has tried to find a way to try to win points and it’s completely legal. They were more successful than us last season.
“Who played better football or worse football is less important.
“We try to play ‘better’ football only because we believe we can get closer to winning points this way – there is no other reason.
“But if we tried to play like Cardiff – and they tried to play like us – both coaches would go crazy.”
