EU’s Barnier: Brexit deal is 90% finalised
But he stands firm against soft exit
A BREXIT plan is 90% complete but a no-deal scenario is still possible, the EU’s chief negotiator has warned.
Amid the ongoing row over the border in Ireland, Michel Barnier said yesterday: “Ninety per cent of the accord on the table has been agreed with Britain.
“I’m convinced a deal is necessary – I’m still not sure we’ll get one.”
He denied he wanted a hard exit, but added:
“But Brexit can’t be soft. It
TOUGH TALKS EU’s Michel Barnier. Right, Theresa May has innumerable consequences.” It comes as ex-Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith said PM Theresa May’s talks “look more like a capitulation than a negotiation”. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people will march in London today, demanding a second referendum on any EU deal.
