Un-noteworthy of £50 cash honour
As of yesterday the petition to put Margaret Thatcher’s face on the new £50 note had drawn 15,600 signatures. Meanwhile, the petition to use a picture of footballer Harry Maguire riding an inflatable unicorn on the note had reached 42,500. Maybe it’s time to change Thatcher’s quote “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money” to “The problem with people’s opinions is they would rather see a big lumping footballer riding a unicorn on their money than a mythical horned beast called Thatcher.”
