JOHANNA KONTA’S hopes of ending a dismal 2018 on a high crashed when she lost 6-4 6-3 to 21-year-old Daria Kasatkina of Russia in the Kremlin Cup semi-final.

It was only the second semi-final the Brit No.1 had reached all year but she had no answer to sixth seed Kasatkina, the world No.14, in Moscow.
