WE’LL MAKE JURGEN CRY ONCE MORE

- BY CHRIS McKENNA

CHRISTOPHER SCHINDLER has made Jurgen Klopp “cry like a baby” in the past – and today he hopes the Kop boss is shedding tears for a different reason.

The Huddersfield defender (above) scored the winning penalty against Reading that sent the Terriers into the Premier League two years ago.

Liverpool boss Klopp admitted it brought a tear to his eye to see his old pal and best man David Wagner (below) lead a team to England’s top tier.

Now the pair go toe-to-toe on the touchline again in today’s tea-time kick-off after Klopp got the better of his buddy twice last season, the Reds beating Huddersfield 3-0 on each occasion.

“It’s great that friendships like this can still exist,” said German defender Schindler. “But I hope this time we do not give him too much joy.”

Given both clubs are managed by Germans, there are sure to be plenty tuning in from their homeland. “I think the story of Huddersfield has a big interest in the newspapers and journalists in Germany,” Schindler said

“With the managers and a couple of German players, there will be interest there this week.”

It is a year since Huddersfield shocked Manchester United on the same turf so Schindler is hoping for another upset.

“We believe in our chances,” he said.
