MOSES’ MALARIA MISSION

-

BRENTFORD star Moses Odubajo is driven to succeed by the memory of his mother – and a passion to try to stamp out malaria.

Odubajo (left) is an ambassador for the Malaria No More charity, and the Bees have devoted today’s game to raising funds for the organisation.

He lost mother Esther to the disease when he was just 13 following a trip to Ghana. Odubajo, whose parents were born in Africa, said: “My mum was a health worker. She was, and still is, an inspiration and has a legacy. When she died I realised malaria happened all over the world, yet you don’t hear about these stories.

“The statistics are crazy, a death every two minutes somewhere – and even £1 can save someone’s life.”
