NIGEL: I’VE NO TIME FOR SELF-PITY
HULL manager Nigel Adkins has told his players there is no time to wallow in self pity.
The Tigers are rock bottom heading into today’s game with fellow strugglers Preston.
And Adkins (left) said: “They are not allowed to feel sorry for themselves. We can’t shy away from where we are. It’s time for a realisation from the players.
“There’s a belonging and a togetherness here at Hull City. The players are working hard, but we need to turn that togetherness into results.
“The first person I look at is myself. Nothing gets me down. Every morning
I look at myself in the mirror and try my best.
“As the leader I want us to be successful and I will lead from the front. You have to enjoy coming into work. It’s about getting every ounce of potential out of every player and member of staff.” Preston boss Alex Neil (left) believes the 4-0 victory over Wigan before the international break can be a turning point. “There are fine margins in this league between winning and losing,” he said. “Our away record has not been good – that is something we certainly have to improve on.”
