ROUND-UP
Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil was clutching on to a small bottle of fancy tequila as he walked the red carpet. “This is my little bottle of courage for when I get my award,” he says. “I got a Christmas tequila calendar last year from my wife and I didn’t want to drink 24 bottles of tequila in a row so I kept this one. You have to bring your own to these awards.”
Noel Gallagher’s a true rock and roller, but tells me he doesn’t want his kids to follow in his footsteps. “I hope not,” he says, before picking up gongs for Q Best Solo Artist and Q Outstanding Contribution To Music. “If they are good at music then great but they aren’t showing any signs yet.”
Q Best Breakthrough Act presented by Red Stripe went to
IDLES and Goat Girl. But it was fellow nominee Tom Grennan who really knows how to party as I ended up doing turbo shots with his crew.
