Parents lose life fight for disabled tot
RULING Justice Russell A MUM and dad have lost their High Court battle to keep their severely disabled baby son alive.
The two-month-old boy suffers near-continuous seizures after being born with a brain abnormality.
The baby, who cannot be named, is in a hospital in the north of England where doctors said he was in a “poor condition” and recommended treatment be withdrawn.
His parents said he responded to them and begged the London court to give him “every chance”.
In the written ruling, Ms Justice Russell sided with the NHS. She said: “This is a baby who has suffered a great deal.”
The case echoes that of tot Alfie Evans who died in April after his parents lost their court fight.
