RIVERS SINKS TITANS
PHILIP RIVERS threw two monster touchdown passes to keep LA Chargers’ play-off bid on track with 20-19 win over Tennessee Titans at Wembley.
The Titans were left to regret a huge last-gasp gamble when they went for a win rather than settle for a tie and take their chances in overtime – and twice failed.
Luke Stocker’s touchdown put the Titans within one point with 31 seconds left and a kick to level the score to come.
Coach Mike Vrabel instead opted for a two-point conversion but Marcus Mariota’s pass was incomplete. A penalty gave him another chance, and this time his pass was tipped away.
