Aussies in Bolt ‘deal’
SPRINT legend Usain Bolt has been offered a professional football contract by Australian side Central Coast Mariners, his agent claimed last night.
The eight-time Olympic champion, who retired from athletics in 2017, had been on trial with the A-League club. Bolt, 32, scored two goals for the club in a friendly, but was not in the Mariners squad for the first game of the season.
The Jamaican’s agent, Ricky Simms, said: “In response to the media stories, yes, Usain has been offered a contract.”
But Mariners coach Mike Mulvey denied he knew anything about the deal.
