HARVEY BARNES has urged West Brom to become road warriors after they missed the chance to go top of the Championship.

The Baggies have been electric at The Hawthorns, taking 15 of 18 points, but it has been a different story away from home where they have picked up just two wins.

To compound their frustrating afternoon at the DW Stadium, they finished the match with 10 men after Jake Livermore was sent off following a second yellow card while Barnes was booked for simulation when he went down in the area.

It was the Albion’s first defeat in eight games and left them third when even a draw would have sent them top.

Barnes, linked with an early recall from his season-long loan by parent club Leicester, knows the Baggies need to start winning on their travels.

He said: “It’s each game as it comes but of course we want to pick up points wherever we go, home or away, so of course it’s something we want to work on. At home we have been very good so if we can start picking up points away as well it will benefit us.”

West Brom have the chance to bounce back on Wednesday when they host Derby and Barnes revealed manager Darren Moore had urged his side to look ahead. “We have got to move on,” said Barnes (inset). “Recovery is going to be important with the games coming up and we have to get back to a positive mind-set for Wednesday.”

A goal from Josh Windas (below) ended Wigan’s threegame winless run and propelled them to eighth, a point off Norwich.

Wigan defender Dan Burn, who was making his second appearance of the season follow- REF: ing injury, is not getting carried away given the unpredictable nature of the Championship.

He said: “If you had given us that at the start of the season we’d have snapped your hand off. It just shows you we are not scared to play anyone. “We’ve played the big teams and got some really good results but anyone can beat anyone in this league so we just need to take each game as it comes.”

Next up is a trip to The Den to face Millwall tomorrow before games against promotion hopefuls Sheffield United, Leeds and Middlesbrough.

Burn, on loan from Brighton, said: “The next four or five games are big ones and Millwall is different. I know a lot of the lads probably haven’t played there before and it is an intimidating place.

“It will be a completely different game than we played against West Brom. It will be a lot more direct so we’ll have to deal with that.

“But I am sure we will prepare properly for it and hopefully put in a similar performance.”
