FOREST CATCH A COLD FROM CANARIES HERO KLOSE

- Grabban 5 Klose 60, 84 BY IAN EDWARDS

NOTTINGHAM FOREST NORWICH CITY 1 2 TIMM KLOSE dragged himself off his sick bed to pay back the faith shown in him by Daniel Farke.

The Swiss international fired Norwich into the play-off spots after defying a virus picked up on international duty.

The two-goal defender scored twice to delight manager Farke (left) and underline the Canaries’ promotion credentials.

Klose, 30, was on the verge of leaving for Hannover 96 in the summer and following the likes of James Maddison and Josh Murphy out of Carrow Road. He said: “I was pretty close to a move. But I spoke with the gaffer and he convinced me I had a big part to play and this season could be something big for us.

“I was never going to miss this game. I always want to go and give the best I can.”

Forest fell to pieces after Lewis Grabban’s sixth goal in seven outings. He admitted: “We did not deserve anything from the game.

“We did not play with enough intensity after such a good start.”

Joe Lolley hit the bar early on, before his second-half substitution led to Forest boss Aitor Karanka getting the bird from his own fans as Forest fluffed the chance to underline their own promotion potential.
