M-way crash OAPs named

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

TWO pensioners who towed their caravan the wrong way up the M40 and crashed, killing a former soldier have been named.

John Norton, 80, and Olive Howard, 87, from High Wycombe, Bucks, both died in the smash on October 15 which killed Stuart Richards, 32. CRISTIANO Ronaldo has insisted he remains a “happy man” and expects rape claims against him to be demolished, adding: “I’m not going to lie.”

The Juventus footballer has been accused of attacking Kathryn Mayorga, 34, in a suite at a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.

But talking about the claims for the first time, he shrugged them off and said they have not affected him.

Ronaldo, 33, said: “I know

I am an example. I know,

100%. On the pitch and outside the pitch.

“So I am always smiling,

I am happy man, I’m blessed that I play in a fantastic club I have a fantastic family, I am healthy. I have everything.

So the rest, it doesn’t interfere on me. I’m very well. I’m not going to lie in this situation, I’m very happy.

“My lawyers, they are confident and of course I am too.

“The most important thing is I enjoy the football, I enjoy my life. The rest, I have people who take care of my life. Of course, the truth is always coming in the first position. So, I’m good.”

Speaking ahead of playing his old club Manchester United in the Champions League at Old Trafford tonight, Ronaldo said he was confident of clearing his name. At the time of the alleged incident, Ms Mayorga refused to name her alleged attacker, instead reportedly agreeing a £288,000 non-disclosure deal with Portuguese Ronaldo.

But in August, she approached Las Vegas police and asked for the case to be reopened, this time naming her alleged attacker and adding more details to her claims.

Ms Mayorga is suing the star to overturn the nondisclosure deal and police have said they will speak to him “at some point”.

A police spokesman said: “We certainly do not know yet when it will happen but we will have to listen to him.” RONALDO ON HOW CLAIMS DO NOT DISRUPT HIS LIFE
