Life below the surface of Mars?

SEA sponges and other colourful marine creatures could be living beneath the surface of Mars, according to scientists.
They reckon salty underground lakes there are able to produce enough oxygen to support microbes and simple animals.
Study author Dr Vlada Stamenkovic, of the California Institute of Technology in the US, said there may be enough of the pools to sustain life “across the planet”.
It follows the discovery in July of a large lake under a mile of ice at its south pole.
Experts have ruled out life on the surface of Mars due to its lack of oxygen. HALF BOARD - Breakfast & Dinner ALL INCLUSIVE: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Drinks & Entertainment
