WHAT IS IT?
This is the oh-so-satisfying stretching which involves your whole body that you do when you wake up. If we want to be scientific about it there are three parts of pandiculation: the voluntary contraction of the muscles, a slow lengthening and complete relaxation. This action, much like a pleasant yawn, re-sets both muscle length and function at the brain level. It “reminds” our muscles that they don’t have to stay stuck in a contracted state.
