BLUES’ HAZARD BOOST AS REAL TARGET CONTE
ANTONIO CONTE is top of Real Madrid’s wanted list – but that could end their chances of signing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (above, left).
The Spanish club have sounded out former Blues boss Conte (above, right) about taking over, with Julen
Lopetegui under mounting pressure and clinging to his job ahead of their Champions League showdown with Czech side Viktoria Plzen.
But Conte would want a lengthy contract and Real have yet to decide who to appoint as long-term boss.
Conte taking charge at the Bernabeu could also be a sensitive issue for Hazard, who had a difficult relationship with him at Stamford Bridge, the Italian often struggling to get the best out of the Belgium star.
Lopetegui has vowed to fight on and said: ”Results haven’t been great but we are going to turn this around.”
