THE GOLDEN BOOTS
Iconic boot maker Dr Martens put its best foot forward last year, with a little help from the Beckhams.
David and son Brooklyn sported the firm’s famous footwear at Men’s London Fashion Week.
The boost came in a year when sales jumped 20% to £348.6million, with profits up a third to £50m.
Northamptonshire-based Dr Martens is best known for its distinctive boots, which first became fashionable in the 1960s.
The once family-run company was bought by private equity firm Permira in 2013. And while all products are designed in Britain, 99% of its footwear is made overseas.
