THE actress famous for playing the Queen says she as a child she dreamed of working in a supermarket.

Claire Foy, who played Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix series The Crown, said: “I wanted to work in Tesco growing up. I wanted to work on the till.

“I just did not have any big grand ideas for myself.”

Claire, 34, who has now handed the royal role to Olivia Colman, also told Swedish chat show Skavlan she would be fine if her acting career ended.

She said: “I would be quite blue and sad. I love all the people I work with, but I would go and get a job to pay the rent.”

Foy also said the Queen speaks oddly, adding: “She has her own language. Even in the Royal Family she’s pretty interesting.”
